Do I need pest control during the winter?

How long does it take for pest control to work?

After treatment, we know you are eager to see results right away. Depending on the type of pest and treatment will determine how fast you will notice a difference.  In most cases you should start to see results within a couple of days.

Roaches/Bedbugs-If you are dealing with cockroaches or bedbugs, it is possible to see a slight increase in activity after the first service as we have disrupted their harborage area. These pest can take multiple visits to ensure pest population is eliminated.

Ants- Depending on the type of ant it can take up to two weeks or longer to eliminate the ant colony. It is important not to eradicate the trail of ants so they will go back to the colony with the chemical and eliminate the colony as whole instead of the trail of ants that are present.

In some cases, we will recommend follow-up visits. These follow-up visits are important because they help ensure that the treatment is effective, and the pests are eliminated.

How is this different from what I can buy from the store?

The products that we use at Mr. Pest Control are professional-grade products that are regulated by the EPA. Our technicians have been trained in what products to use and where to apply the products to make them most efficient in eliminating pest infestations. Many of the products that can be purchased at your local stores will kill some of the pest but will spread the pest population into other areas of the home if not applied correctly. It is always best to reach out to a professional when dealing with pest infestations.

How do I know if I have a termite infestation?

Common signs of a termite infestation include hollow-sounding wood, mud tubes along walls or foundations, small piles of wings, and visible damage to wooden structures. If you suspect termites, it’s best to contact a professional for an inspection.

How long does a termite treatment take?

The duration depends on the treatment method and the extent of the infestation. Most treatments can be completed within a few hours to a full day.

How can I prevent termites from coming back?

After treatment, we recommend yearly inspections and using preventative measures such as moisture control, reducing wood to ground contact and wood debris from around your home. Your technician can provide you with customized recommendations for your home.
